Bikes-not-Bombs fixed gear ride!!

[ I've seen others post similar things, so hopefully I won't get in trouble. ]

Hey! I'll be participating in the 18th annual Bikes Not Bombs Bike-a-Thon and you can help! I'm planning on riding the 62 mile (100k) route and you can pledge either a flat amount or by the mile. No amount is too small! And if you have friends that might be interested in sponsoring me, feel free to pass this on. You'll be my favorite friend forever (just don't tell the others, they'll feel bad).

Your sponsorship will help Bikes Not Bombs cover their annual operating expenses and finance their valuable work in:
  • Donating over 2,000 bicycles this year alone to countries with deep need for basic transportation and human-powered industrial machinery (yes way!) such as Ghana and Guatamala.
  • Operating an Earn-a-Bike program for low-income inner-city youth, providing them with technical skills and a bicycle which they recondition themselves.
  • The teen vocational program, providing area youth with employment, technical training, and valuable job skills.
  • Youth leadership development, providing a forum where young people can self-organize and tackle issues and projects important to them.
  • Girls programming, ecouraging the participation of girls in bicycling and bicycle advocacy.
  • And more!

The Bike-a-Thon happens May 15th and I'll need your pledges in-hand on that day. Please make your check out to: "Bikes Not Bombs" and in the memo blank, please write my name followed by "BAT 05" so I can more easily track donations. If you can send this pledge right away, send it to me at

Trevor Schroeder
4 Buckley Ave #1
Jamaica Plain, MA 02130

or if you're local, I can get it from you, whichever is easiest. I am trying to get all my pledges collected to turn in by day of the event. However, if you don't get around to making this donation for a while, please send it to BNB with my name and "BAT 05" in the memo area. BNB's address is

59 Amory St #103
Roxbury, MA 02119

All donations are tax-deductible and you will receive a thank you and a receipt from BNB. Just be sure to include your name and address.

Thanks for helping a great cause!

-t.
