Well, all that this thread made me do is go out and buy some 26"x1.5" slicks. No, they are not fast even as my hybrid, not to mention road bike, BUT they do make the mtb bike noticeably faster. I'd say it is money well spent for an mtb that lives mostly on pavement. You all satisfied now?
