Headset and Bottom Bracket Removal/Installation

I recently bought a new frame for a used bike I found with excellent components (on a frame that needs to be stripped and repainted). I enjoy working on my bikes, but have had the LBS take care of headset and bottom bracket installation in the past. I've now found a bike coop where I can use the tools. What do I need to know - especially in terms of not screwing things up - for removing and installing the headset and bottom bracket. General tips, do's and don'ts requested...

Headset is 1" threaded Dura-ace. BB I also believe is DA (68mm english). New frame is titanium (tisports).

Are reaming/facing generally necessary? Harder to do on a titanium frame?
