I personally prefer double tap over STI but that is up to you to decide. Apex will be lighter than 105 if you care about that as well. What I would do decide is to test ride a bike with SRAM Rival to see if you like it as Apex and Rival will work and feel exactly the same. What are you paying for the Elite with 105? Mags are saying the msrp for the new Secteur Elite will be $1200 so if you are paying more than that for the 2010 model I would get the new one instead.

MSRP for 2011 Secteur Elite w/ Apex is $1249 which makes the 2010 Elite at $1400 overpriced.

Thanks for the info, Gus. The LBS is selling the Sec Elite for $1250. I couldn't find any 2011 MSRP info on the web and the LBS just said they didn't know yet what it would sell for. Where did you get that price? Shoot, I'll wait if that's true.

nevermind: I just reread your post about reading the 2011 MSRP in mags. I still can't find anything on the web but I'm thinking I'll wait for the 2011. If the MSRP is true and the bike remains relatively the same it'd be the prudent thing to do.
