I'd check the cost of the change at the LBS, I only paid $13 for the tool to remove the cartridge bb. Granted I will only use it once and probably never need it again. The other tool for the I paid $19 for and I'll have it if I ever need to change out chainrings etc. So, IMO if the LBS wants more than $40 I'd do it/did it myself. Besides you learn a little about your bike and you get the satisfaction of a job well done.
