I don't know how or why Geoman sells refitted batteries in water bottle packs but deal xtreme sells the same light model with a velcro cloth/nylon baggy.
I got one on Nov 1 2009, used it 5 days per week all winter and spring (when it became light enough outside to not need a light).
That's sound like a great testament to the light and the battery. I would expect that "high mode" is mostly more of an "aw shucks" setting than any actually need.
I've ridden three "all night" double centuries this year, and have needed brighter lighting during about 30 minutes of riding out of 20 or more hours of 'after dark" riding. (using 200 lumen light)
