Yeah, assuming you're riding the COS track, you probably don't need anything fancy for tires. Concrete will eat up expensive lightweight tires pretty fast, and you won't feel a whole lot of difference until you've been riding more. Almost any road tread will be fine-- you obviously don't want some extreme bad weather/cross tire, but a bit of diamond tread or something similar is fine.
