Depending on what you have on your 'pooter, try opening the file in whatever image program you have (e.g. MSpaint). If you don't have one irfranview is a great freeware viewer with easy to use edit functions

Try reducing the size of the image as well as the number of colours. You can, for example reduce the size to 640x480 and the colours to 256 without losing too much. Save it as a jpg or png file, which are generally smaller than bmp.
That should reduce the filesize substantially.
