Sounds like you made it work and kept peace on the homefront........nice work

I never spend the family funds for bike stuff............it always comes from selling bikes, parts and many other items I buy and resell as well as some "moonlighting". I have purchased a couple of nice modern MTB's through moonlighting efforts. I still discuss those with the SO as they are considered major purchases.

I consider my family's well being to be much more important and would sell all the bikes, parts and tools in a heartbeat if necessary. I love riding bikes and tinkering with them, but I still consider them an investment monetarily as well as heathwise.
