Hrm interesting, one thing I kinda don't like though is the aero seatpost. Cervelo S series have those too and account for some lack of absorption/compliance in the ride.
Mine was shipped with a traditional round seatpost and used a shim to make it fit. My guess is the older ones would mostly have the round seatposts.
