Had mine since last October. Still works like it did when it was new. Battery life was shorter in the winter but recovered in the spring (Li-ion loses capacity when it's well below freezing, apparently).

Eventually, I'd like to have a light with similar output, but with proper cut-off optics to eliminate the upward beam spill and put that light on the road, where I actually need it. But I wouldn't pay 3 times the price of the MagicShine to get one.
