Well everyone is a little different. I'm 5'9" but ride a 51 because 30" inseam. And 160mm cranks because even worse femur proportion.
Given that the OP has a 33" inseam, 54 seems a bit small, but it's hard to say because all frames are made differently, and geometry tends to have just as great of an effect.
