I don't know why people want that style anymore, they were a pain in the a@@, I had one in the 1970's, called it oh s**t, because any time you were climbing a steeper hill, it would fall off, go rolling down the hill, so that you had to turn around and go after it, and climb the stupid hill again. When this happened you would say "oh s**t!!!", and go after it. The steeper the hill, the longer it would wait to fall off. After a particularly steep climb it fell off at the top, I stopped and watch it roll down, near the bottom it, hit a pebble and rolled into the middle of the road where it met with a 5 ton truck, that was the end of that particular pump. The modern style don't look as appropriate, but have a better mounting system. I'm actually thinking of getting a small saddle bag and adding a CO2 inflator for my old Raleigh as that would give a clean frame look, but still the ability to pump up a tire on the road.
