News flash folks - Most people whom I know who have/had this problem were not always 50 plus year olds. They were in their 30s, 40s even a 25 year old.
Back to you: no straining at the toilet, adequate amount of fiber in your diet, plenty of water, Tucks, Preparation H, stool softener if needed.
If it's a chronic problem then plan to see a doctor to get those little beauties taken care of.
I don't know about riding since sitting is usually bad enough at times. I'd probably wait until you're a tad more comfortable.
