Good deal on a bottom end/near bottom end bike. What are you looking for?
The UO8 was an unusual entry bike from that era. With upgrades (alloy wheels, seat post, alloy crankset), it could be a pretty competitive bike. I upgraded from my Schwinn Continental (when it was stolen) to a 1975 Peugeot. I then proceeded to do those upgrades to my UO8, and it was a pretty nice bike. They also have that certain "vintage" look to them, that is pretty attractive. Just realize you are entering into the "french threading" zone, where finding a couple of key replacements can be expensive. For example, while you can find a cartridge bottom bracket for a Japanese bike for about $10 to $15, the only new bb for that bike runs $50. Of course, you can ride it as is, and not spend anything. Tires, cables, etc., are all standard parts.
Around here, that bike at that price would last about 30 minutes, I would be surprised if it is still available (some sellers leave ads up after selling bikes, very frustrating). Hopefully you grabbed it.
