It's true, "spin faster" is only the best advice if he's spinning slowly to begin with.

And I'm not sure where I got the idea it was going to be a city bike... guess I just assumed. My advice really only applies to the city bike. Road riding is different.

My city bike fixed gear is 42x18,
My road bike single speed is 49x16.
