all jokes aside, when I toured, I struggled initially thinking of what camera stuff to take, and ended up taking a pt and shoot with B+W (my personal work was all in b+w back then) mostly cuz of the weight, which brings me to this posters claim of 40kg....even if exaggerted, yowser, lots of stuff.
I pared down and pared down on my tours, made a real diff., and believe me, going up stuff like the Col de Tourmalet (sp?) I was glad I pared down....
