I've been half planning a bike trip from DC up to Harpers Ferry and the Antietam battlefield for more than a year now. Maybe I'll actually do it this fall.
That's one thing I enjoy around Richmond, lots of battle fields and old forts to ride through. It breaks up the ride a bit and provides a nice backdrop.
