Mikey, I don't know a whole lot about cycling, but I've done my share of racing in another form, and I think it's worth pointing out that your mental state going into this race is probably more important than your physical one. I don't mean to discount the physical, but if you're off mentally it's probably going to cost you more than being off physically would. So pick whatever you feel the most comfortable with and do it.

This is probably going to come out harsher than I intend it to, and I don't mean to insult ken or ze, or imply that they don't know what they're talking about, but this post reminds me of a quote from a book about guys training for the 2000 olympics, something to the effect of "You know what your problem is, you'll take advice from any schmuck willing to give it to you" (the schmucks in question were 2 coaches who had excellent reputations, so, again, not intended to slight anyone).

What I'm trying to get across is that it's frequently less important to have the best or ideal plan than it is to have a plan and stick with it. Sorry if I'm rambling a bit here, this is more stream of consciousness than I intended.
