I studied to become an EMT a long time ago. The incredibly gruesome colour photos in the manual helped me decide it was not a career for me.
I thought about doing the same thing . That was until I saw a picture on the Net, of a kid that stuck a bunch of M-80 firecrackers in his mouth n' lit them. He destroyed his airway, along with half his nose. The question with the picture was how to intubate the patient.
That picture convinced me not to be an EMT. I may have been able to stomach break lever. But not the M-80s'.
