i believe the stock bike had black cables.
my bike was a bit of a weird situation - i had limited funds, couldn't afford the $3800 full price. shop was trying to clear out inventory, told me they'd swap the Red for Rival and make the price more reasonable. to me, it made sense - better frame, cheaper components that are, as far as i have read, not that much worse than Red. i've been very happy with the bike, just trying to improve it here and there as i go.
