What I'm getting at is I bet if you could go back anytime within the past 500 years you could find people complaining about the language in decline. When in fact part of it is just the natural process of linguistic evolution.
Language is a living thing!
My point is that it is dying at an ever increasing rate. It's not evolution at this point. The most common sense errors are common now. It's rather sad, if you ask me. And that's coming from someone that has always struggled with writing.
