That does sound lazy on their part. You probably would have gotten better response in the ordering process if you were there in person rather than calling on the phone.
At any rate, be glad you don't have to wait three months for a bike, like I did.
I had gone in person on Sunday and Monday as well. Sunday to look at bikes and Monday to try out a 51. It's just been a pain having to keep following up. 3 months would make me insane.
