Sitting bones hurt? That is a good sign!Means the right anatomical bits are bearing the weight just as they were designed to. How long depends quite a bit on the particular saddle as leather differs. Just give it some hours in the saddle and the saddle will soften and those bones will not hurt any more. If you are a bit impatient, you can put the saddle on the floor and with a bare heel carefully press down on the general seating area until you feel it is a little more flexible. Now ride it.

For the hurting hand, that is more difficult. Where exactly does it hurt?
