Riding alone this spring and I lost a few pounds. Riding + calorie counting and then weight came off in spades. People, especially those that are overweight, are horrible at judging their intake and expenditures without some sort of tracking. Initially weight loss was the focus and I've dropped 35# now fitness it the goal with 20# left to reach my main goal. I've logged over 1200 miles and am on track to log well over 2000 this year. Besides cardio fitness the biking allows me to eat more normally when I burn over 8000 calories a week.
