The main reason to report it to the cops, especially if you have a solid ID on the car or the driver, is to have a record on file, in case the tool makes it a habit to mess with people. Last year a doctor was convicted of wrecking two cyclists. The case was definitely helped by having reports on file of the same guy harassing cyclists prior to the incident. It took his whole, "It was a one-time thing" defense right to the mat.

Great story! This piece of sub-human filth is sorry only that he got caught! He was apparently a self-appointed public avenger against those "rude and disrespectful cyclists". I love how he quotes the Bible and claims that it was the confrontation by the bikers AFTER he put their safety at risk that was the issue!!! If they had just meekly accepted their chastisement from Dr. Roadvigilante, there wouldn't have been a problem. I hope he lost his medical license too. After all the Hippocratic oath states "First do no harm".
