Road triple on mountain bike possible?
Question- and forgive me...
Will a road triple crankset, specifically the Sugino XD2 (46,36,24) work on a mountain bike?
I've got an older (2000ish) Cannondale F400 mountain bike that I'm rebuilding for the sake of learning about this stuff. It had a Sugino crankset that is being retired due to excessive wear and I would like something silver instead of the black that most mountain bike cranksets seem to come in nowadays. This bike will not likely be doing any "mountain biking" in the end, just riding around the neighborhood by my wife.
