You can always buy the frame and build it yourself with the components you want. That way, you will not be wasting money and components from the standard build. The frame is $430 at Jenson, and the build with trekking bars grip shifters would have to much less than the cost of the complete bike ($1,100). Plus, you will learn a lot about the bike and maintaining the bike by building it yourself. Good luck.
