I met Lon Haldeman, the trancontinental racer, at a bike show at the Javits Center in NYC. I was in awe of him because he spoke so softly to me about his acheivement of breaking the coast to coast time record, in the 80's. I guess I expected him to look like some superhero. He was supernice.
