About the only item I could comment on is the Tec 9 wheelset. I have the 30 mm and not the 43 mm deeper dish wheels.

Both wheelsets 30 & 43 mm are decent, I had mine trued and they are still round after a couple of months of riding. I will say from the pictures and the actual freewheel it's about the cheapest $ 6-10 part available, it's not a Dicta, ACS, Shimano, Origin 8 or White Industries SS freewheel. In that regard the one provided will work and give you some miles before you'll have to eventually replace it. The freewheel isn't an easy on/off freewheel either, which means that day, you'll have to use a vice and crush it and screw it off to get it off the wheelset. Be careful so as not to damage the wheel.

The part on it, LY-1016A (they appear to have better one's too):

Better replacement(s) ?

A value wheelset is the 30 mm model, the 43 mm are their next better upgrade. I don't know how much better or if you'll prefer the 43mm's ?

I figure if you're after a stunning bike with the best wheelset ever made, of course spending more is what you should go after. The wheelset I have is handsome enough, yet modest enough to be a smaller target of envy or smaller target for theft. That was my goal, to get an everyday beater that would be reliable.
