I recently sold a bike on CL, and before I sold it to a sincere customer, I did get general inquiries, plus one persistent a-hole trying to lure me into a scam, which was to insist it was the perfect bike for him, fully trusting it was exactly as I described, but he couldn't come check it out in person because of his busy professional schedule. Money was no option and he'd even be willing to pay more than my asking price to ensure I didn't sell it to anyone else. Oh, and if I'd be so kind as to remove my ad in the meantime and provide me with my bank details so he could make a direct deposit.

I toyed with him to see just how far he would go and how stupid his offers would get.
