When I'm at church in winter, I'm almost always the only one on a bike. In summer, a few more will ride. But we also have a number of people, of all ages, who walk to and from church on a regular basis. And we also have quite a few who are cycling for recreation. Car alternatives are catching on everywhere.

I should also mention more than half the people at my office do not drive to and from work. The exceptions include one who lives in another community and one who lives just out of walking range and needs a car in order to make the rounds for sales calls.

Also, at the city level, our mayor, who is not car-free, is working to promote developments that allow for a walkable community.

Changes are coming.
