Don't know for certain about the Jagwire pods--I've seen what you are talking about--but I have certainly put DT shifters in regular Shimano bar-end pods. Liked the extra length hanging out when I had full ski gloves on for winter commuting. If the Jagwire pods are cross compatible with Shimano bar-end shifters, then they should work with DT shifters too.
