I ride a 2005 Dakar XLT, 3-1/2 years every day, thousands of miles, and it still rides as good as new. (Sure, new cables, tires, and such...)

Jamis makes as good a product as just about anyone. I'm just not looking at their 'new' lines, as the geometry doesn't fit me, nor do I personally care for the aesthetics and design. But quality-wise, you're in good hands.
