I hate to jinx myself, but why do some people get so many flats? I ride in NYC and don't have a problem and our streets aren't in great shape. I don't ride on flat resistant tires, nor use tire liners.

I always make it a point to inflate up to the higher end of the pressure guide of the tire just about every ride. I also replace tires before they wear thin. These 2 steps should keep you away from sniffin' the glue of the patch kit.
