I'm a guy and I ride around with one of these + a mixte to run my errands. No one has ever laughed or looked at me funny. On the contrary, I've even gotten stopped just to ask me where I got that basket. Maybe a pannier basket is more acceptable? At any rate, it does the job, it looks nice and I don't care what people think.
