This morning I was a bit behind schedule and arrived 15 minutes later than usual. As I was finishing locking my bike and removing my paniers, a gentleman who was walking toward the office building from the parking lot stopped to chat.

He said he's seen my bike in the morning and wondered who rode it. He asked questions about my commute and seemed quite impressed that I was commuting by bicycle. He thought a round trip of 12+ miles was a "long way" and that I was pretty nervy to negotiate the traffic on the 4 lane street in front of the building.

It was a pleasent chat and a bit of an ego boost. Nice that someone has a positive view of what it is we commuters are doing. It was a nice way to begin the work day.
