short laces are hard to tie...and there is really no way to do it and have it look good...but most guys i know that ride ss/fixie have one pant leg rolled up at all times anyways, so if your shoes look a bit odd, i don't think anyone would notice, between the pant leg and the silly hats, i say you're cool...i still say tie them how you want them and cut them off...just don't burn yourself on the shoelace like I did...i'm a dummy...
