^^ That's a good price for the Cane Creek v-brake road drop levers. The similar Tektro RL520 levers are often on ebay for around that price.

Shifter option: several. bar-end shifters, Suntour Command shifters, or modified MTB trigger shifters.

I've successfully modified MTB triggers, and mounted them beside brake levers. The mecessary modification is that their 7/8" MTB-diameter clamps have to be reamed out to fit on 15/16" road-diameter bars--done at my friend's machine shop.




But expect to spend at least $100 on parts. If you're not doing the work yourself, then probably at least another $100 on labor. Do you want to spend $100-300 on this bike? If you do the work yourself, and happen to get lucky and get good deals on ebay or something, then maybe you'll get away with $100.
