Hey I tried using the search in the forums but I couldn't find anything that answered my problem. I just got a new bike today (a used lotus bike), but the front tire was heavily damaged and I want to get it changed.

I looked online to try to find a new tire to replace it (or maybe even both), I found it. But it came in 1 1/8 inch and 1 1/4 inch. I read the description on how to measure my tire, but it didn't do such a good job. Just left me confused... Can someone give me a better description on how to find my tire's size.

I just want to do it myself so the stores don't rip me off (since he'll probably know I'm really new to biking and bike equipments). I'll just buy a kit with all the neccessary tools, and I already found a video on youtube telling me how to replace the tires. If I want to fix bikes... might as well start now right?
