If you plan on selling it and trying to make a buck or two, then by all means, watch your nickels and dimes....if on the other hand, you do not plan on selling it, then as long as it doesn't "hurt" financially, then do what ever you want to it.

I have a 1983 Miyata 710 that I am redoing. I had to have the wheels rebuilt and trued, new Schwable Marathon tires, NOS original to bike rear dérailleur (Suntour Blue Line), cables, housing, grip tape, brake pads, hoods, chain, seat and new powder coating and the occasional labor charge and the next thing I know, I'm into this thing for a smidgen over $700. Over about 17 months or there abouts. Is it painful to type that? Yes...do I smile everytime I see it...Hell yes.
