Did the State TTT today, got 5th (40k in 54:48 @ 26.9mph). Tough ride, as it always is, and there are some really fast teams when it comes to TTs.

Only major mishap was one team member's rear wheel was loose as we approached the turnaround. Total time lost to stop and tighten it was only 15 seconds (looking at the ride file). This was minimized since we did it at the turnaround, when we'd be going really slow anyway. We chose not to leave him behind at that point, as he was going well, and we still had 20k to race.

The guy behind me in the rotation was a 16yo Cat 3 who's 130 lbs. In one valley, I got our speed up, and dropped him off at the foot of a climb at 36mph. He hit the air like a bag of feathers at that speed... so I started carrying him until our speed got back down below 30 when coming off descents (this was a rolling course).

Good fun. It doesn't look like the loose wheel cost us a placing, as we were 19" out of 4th. So, all is well.

It was fun to see two of our other BF Joe's Pro members get state champ medals though -- great rides EDR and RX (who were on separate squads for the day).
