I've been "commuting" to work for about a month now, not that I can really call it a commute at 0.9 miles, though energy allowing I do take the scenic route home, but normally after 10 hours of labour I'm ready to just get home and sleep all day.
Anyway, at the weekend I bought a rack for my bike, and a cheap laptop pannier, mainly chosen as it was the cheapest available, but also because I'll be commuting to and from Uni starting September. Last night was the first time using my pannier to carry my kit for work and my lunch. For the start of the journey something felt wrong, the ride wasn't right, then it hit me, I didn't have a bag on my back.. I nearly turned around and headed home to get all my stuff, luckily I remembered quickly enough that there was a reason I didn't have my bag, it was all in my pannier.
