Had a good ride home from work last night. That was my first ride in the dark where my lights were actually necessary to make sure I didn't hit anything. It was also my first real ride since the accident on July 28th. Last night was a bit warm. I averaged 12.2 miles an hour which is almost 2 miles an hour slower than I was averaging prior to the crash, but between riding in the dark, and not wanting to push my ankle too hard I wasn't too upset.
This morning I rode into work. Was a bit chilly but after the last couple weeks it felt good to be outside, and not feel like I was in an oven. It was also rather dark this morning at 5:45 so the lights came in handy again. I had a guy on a road bike catch up to me about two miles from work. He was finishing up his morning ride, and asked if I was going to work. I guess my pannier gave it away I'm not a hard core roadie.

Did manage do average 12.9 miles an hour on the way in. Which is, i think, my highest average speed ever on a commute TO work by .1 miles per hour.
In any case it's been good to get back on the bike. While I'm riding my ankle doesn't hurt at all.
