Plus it usually takes less. Just look at my bacon 6 slices are 210 calories. Two slices of bread are 200 and that’s just plain bread.
As far as what I eat is it good for me? Well if you go by the media that has brainwashed Americans into thinking fat is the worst thing right next to foods with cholesterol then yes it’s horrible. But if you look at my blood and I am 42 the cholesterol levels are really good. Quite a few low carbers get good blood results too. It seems to be easier to control with low carb then low fat.
But you did not read what I wrote well I can’t handle any carbs. 2 M&M’s would slow me down for a day. I have lost about 50 pounds so far. In the future I may be able to eat some carbs but it will not be the low quality carbs most Americans eat.
I am constantly amazed by people who go on a low-carb diet and then argue that it is healthy. Stop and listen to yourself. You eat bacon everyday. Bacon is full of fat, cholesterol and sodium. Do not compare a low-carb diet to most of the crap most Americans eat. Cutting out processed foods is healthy. Eating a lot of meat and cheese is not.
My question before I pull out all the stops and start posting ridiculous amounts of research here is this: Do you honestly believe eating bacon everyday and red meat all the time is healthy? I am not referring to other positive changes you may have made like cutting out snack foods, simple carbohydrates or increasing exercise.
Also, I know a lot of people who have been on atkins. Most of them lose weight. Most of them have improved cholesterol and blood pressure. For awhile. Its likely due to the benefits of losing weight. All of the people I know who went on atkins or the like now weigh as much or more than they did prior to going on the diet. Their cholesterol and blood pressure numbers have gone back up too.
Time will tell the tale. Lets check back in a year and see what your weight and your cholesterol and blood pressure is.
For fun do an internet search on the term "phytochemical." They only come from things grown in the sun and eaten in an unprocessed form.
