Yeah that's pretty much the case. I was considering the vintage bikes for the value, and as a way to ease into the sport (and have a bike I can ride to work and around town and not worry about getting stolen, etc...). That being said, if I can find something not too expensive with nice components (hopefully STI shifters too) that'd be the best of both...
