My son got his license last year, when Maine had just passed expanded cycling laws, like 3' passing and multi-lane left turn clarification. Was pleased to hear during the driving instruction class that the instructor treated the new laws like any other and spent a fair amount of time going over bicycle/auto interaction issues without any apparent bias.
