Yeah I know it seems pretty daunting for sure. To be honest I do not think I could pull it off.
The 10,00 feet of elevation may seem a lot but I know the roads and it is a little here and a little there and all adds up. There is no big climb anywhere on the route. A lot of rolling terrain. I guess the the effect would still be a lot of wear and tear on the legs though.
I am just not too sure of the speed they want you to maintain, seems a bit too fast for me. All though if being in a group/paceline would help which I am sure it would, just maybe. I know I can do the first half no problem, it is the return.
Oh and where is ends is not the best neighborhood either. Not a good place to be coming in alone at night but I believe they would have picked me up before dark anyway.
I dunno, sounds pretty cool to be honest.
