Wow!
I knew it had been awhile since I had commuted with the Volae when I checked the tire pressures and found them to be around 60psi. I quickly pumped them back up to 100 psi and headed out into the 15-25mph headwinds.
Funny thing, the wind didn't upset me in the least little bit. I just pedaled along and got to work just as elated as I was when I pulled my little blue bike out of the garage before the commute. "Why?" you ask. Why indeed! When I got to work and logged my miles I saw that I have not been out on the Volae since August the 2nd. It felt so wonderful to be riding that little blue bike again that I don't think anything could have dampened my spirits.
Now I've commuted between the 2nd and now, some, but on my Trek. I hadn't been feeling 100% and life is just so much easier with the Trek in regards to bike storage at work. The few times I did commute, I took the easy way out.
Well, I'm feeling a bit more gooder now! The back has almost healed. The daughter's desk has been stripped, sanded, repaired, stained, and has recieved three coats of polyurethane. In two more days I'll be off work for two weeks during which I'll move two daughters into their college digs. One will be a 500 mile round trip and the other will be a 1700 mile round trip. Somehow I'll even find time for some recreational riding.
So I'm officially back as a participating member of this world, and all the wonderful bicycling I can squeeze in.
