My Simple Tips for Hot Weather Cycling

I'm not an expert, just a warm weather rider.
  • Ride early in the day if that works for you
  • Drink a quart of water well before starting
  • Drink frequently as you ride and refill before your supply gets low
  • Wear light colored wicking clothing
  • Avoid strong tailwinds as possible
  • Seek shade for cooling breaks
  • Ride well within your capabilities

If you do not feel well while riding, get cooled with minimum delay. Do not tough it out. If you start feeling confused or disoriented, contact emergency medical help.
